1200 Intrepid comprises 92,000 SF of Class A office space oriented around the Navy Yard’s Central Green Park. World-renowned Danish starchitect Bjarke Ingels designed 1200 Intrepid to evoke the feeling of standing beneath a naval ship’s bow. The building’s precast concrete structure features a leaning feature wall which bends outwards at 20 degrees from the ground floor to the roof. The double curved façade forms a canopy at the building’s entrance and echoes the geometry of the circular park it fronts. The interior of the building features a mirrored atrium, which provides a periscope-like view of the US Navy’s retired warships docked at the Navy Yard’s shipyard.
