December Face of Ensemble – Coleta Hodgson
BLOG POST

The December Face of Ensemble is our Leasing Accountant (Phoenix), Coleta Hodgson.
When did you join Ensemble and what do you do?
I joined Ensemble in August 2016 as a Leasing Accountant dedicated to the HonorHealth portfolio.
What do you like most about working at Ensemble?
I like the team atmosphere and comradery at every level and in every department at Ensemble. I am increasingly impressed with how unique the management style is at Ensemble. It isn’t the typical “chain of command” you see in most companies, but rather encompasses global interaction and open communication at all levels. I believe this makes each and every individual feel as though they are part of the bigger picture.
Why or how did you get into your current line of work?
I began my career in public accounting when I was in my 20’s. When I made my first real estate investment in my 30’s my focus and enthusiasm shifted to the real estate industry. I later decided to pursue a full-time career in commercial real estate. Since the inception of my real estate career, I have had the opportunity to work in the industrial, office, retail, and medical sectors as a Property Manager, Property Accountant and Lease Administrator. I enjoy the fast-pace and challenging environment of real estate and the fact that there is never a day that goes by that you cannot learn something new!
Where did you grow up and what was your first job?
I was born in Houston, Texas but consider myself a native of Arizona. My first job was asking people if they would “like butter on their popcorn.” You guessed it! I was 13 and worked behind the concession stand at AMC. This is back in the day when there were no cash registers at theaters and we wore money belts! We actually had to know how to count change without a calculator or register. This was not the same era as the Abacus, mind you!
What do you do for fun after work?
After work I hike, ride my bike, meet with friends for dinner, play with my two Shih Tzu’s (Gizzmo and Kaboodles) and sit on the patio and dream about my next Bucket List item.
What is your favorite or most memorable vacation spot?
My favorite vacation spot so far would have to be Maui! I went in September of 2014 for two glorious weeks. I loved the laid back nature, the casual attire, and the fact that people wore flip flops in formal dining rooms. I probably squeezed just about everything there is to do into a few short weeks. I snorkeled, went on dinner cruises, traveled the island from end to end, shopped, walked on the beach, swam with the sea turtles, found all the really great blow holes, traveled the road to Hanna, and bike rode Haleakala and so, so, so much more!
