June Face of Ensemble – Christine Rooney

BLOG POST

06.01.2018

The June Face of Ensemble is our Accounts Receivable Specialist (Phoenix Corporate Office), Christine Rooney.

When did you join Ensemble and what do you do?

I joined Ensemble in May 2017 and I am the Accounts Receivable Specialist for the UHT portfolio.

What do you like most about working at Ensemble?

Hands down, the people! I have really enjoyed getting to know everyone at Ensemble, and how their roles all play into the bigger picture. Everyone is always willing to help out when they can, answer any questions, and have fun while doing it!

Why or how did you get into your current line of work?

My college degrees are in Criminal Justice and Sociology, however I found my way into Accounting by chance after college. I had a co-worker who told me about a job that he thought I was the perfect candidate for, working in Accounting at a college in Chicago.  From that point on, most of my Accounting experience has been working at different colleges and universities in the Midwest.

Where did you grow up and what was your first job?

I grew up in South Holland, Illinois which is in the South suburbs of Chicago. I started my first job Freshman year of HS, working in the HS Bookstore. I worked throughout my 4 years of HS, working before and after school and every summer. I would sell school supplies to students, teachers, and staff. The worst part was working in the summer in a building with no A/C putting bar codes on all of the textbooks for the entire school district.

What do you do for fun after work?

After work I love spending time with my family, hanging out in our backyard by the pool and barbecuing. My daughter and I also love to bake!

What is your favorite or most memorable vacation spot?

My favorite vacations are our family road trips.  We have logged many hours and miles in the car traveling from our previous home in Wisconsin to places like Missouri, Texas and Florida. Another memorable road trip was last year when we moved across country from Wisconsin to Arizona. We made stops in Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. Since moving here, we have had weekend trips to California, Tucson, Sedona, and Jerome. We are excited to explore more of Arizona and the West Coast.
