Ensemble purchased the Coast Hotel in 2006 and subsequently renovated and re-launched the property in 2009 as the Dream Inn, a full-service, beachfront boutique hotel situated on iconic Cowell Beach in Monterey Bay adjacent to the wharf and historic Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. The hotel features ocean frontage with private balconies to each of its 165 fully renovated guestrooms, a heated beachfront pool and hot tub, along with more than 3,500 SF of meeting space catering to the leisure, corporate and SMERF market segments. The property’s much-loved restaurant, Jack O’Neill, showcases the bounty of land and sea from California’s Central Coast along with local wine and craft beers. In 2017, Ensemble refreshed all 165 rooms, remodeled the lobby and common areas, revamped the pool area and opened a new grab-and-go café by Santa Cruz-based Verve Coffee Roasters.
