This project combined the acquisition and remodeling of an existing independent hotel with construction of a new 10-story hotel tower, two-level subterranean garage and new pool area. The new hotel was flagged as a Holiday Inn upon completion in 1984, just in time for the Los Angeles Summer Olympics. The project was done under a development agreement with the City of Santa Monica and was designed and constructed under a fast-track process that resulted in an on-time delivery from start of design to opening in less than one year. The development won praises from the city and various community groups. The hotel sold in 1986.
